Prescription Information - Online Pharmacies

There are several reasons why we do not fax prescriptions to on-line pharmacies.  The first problem we had was the receiving faxes of these pharmacies would never work correctly.  When the pharmacy would contact us after we tried to repeatedly fax with no results, they were outright aggressive and rude.  That was also about the time we began to see lawsuits against these pharmacies for falsifying prescriptions and dispensing fraudulent products.  In addition, many of the veterinary pharmaceutical companies (such as Pfizer Animal Health and Merial) will not guarantee their products when purchased from these pharmacies, so we finally made the decision not to directly fax prescriptions to these types of pharmacies.

If you choose to have a prescription filled with one of these pharmacies, we would be happy to provide you with a written prescription, which you may send to the pharmacy of your choice.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Surgical Information

What is the “Canine Spay”?
The canine spay, or ovariohysterectomy, is a form of surgical sterilization for the female dog and involves the surgical removal of both the ovaries and the uterus. It is a very commonly performed procedure, used to permanently prevent pregnancy and certain diseases caused by the influences of the female hormones. Although common, the canine spay is considered to be a major surgical procedure, requiring general anesthesia, aseptic operating room conditions, and detailed patient monitoring throughout the surgery and post-operative period.
