I have been with SouthCare since 1997, even before Dr. Benoit bought the clinic! I am a RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician)—one of my favorite jobs is performing dentals on pets, one of the many things I can do to make a pet feel better and be healthier. I take a great deal of care and pride in my work, and feel that SouthCare provides some of the best veterinary care in Spokane. I have great co-workers, and our doctors are outstanding.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from WSU and worked as a field research biologist for six years before starting at SouthCare. I am an avid birder and hiker, so I spend most of my free time outdoors.
I have also spent a lot of time as a volunteer for the WDFW and BLM (surveying birds, netting & banding birds, surveying and netting bats), I have served as a secretary, newsletter editor, and on the board of directors for Spokane Audubon Society and currently serve on the board of directors for the Washington Ornithological Society. If you have any questions about our wild birds, I’d be happy to answer them for you!
Maya, a Lab/sight hound mix and Tizzie, a tortoiseshell domestic shorthair cat, are the furry members of our family. They love to play together, although Maya would rather be on a walk than anything else, and Tizzie likes to pretend that we never feed her.
